Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Bohdan Yatsyniuk (the "Developer", "we", "us") handles information in the Intersect Studio iOS/iPadOS app (the "App").

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Intersect Studio app. It doesn't cover third-party websites we link to. Our marketing website is a simple static site that doesn't use tracking cookies.

What data we collect

Data stored on your device

Your current scene, saved scenes, previews, and settings are stored locally on your device. Without Pro iCloud Sync, saved scenes remain local to that device.

iCloud Sync for saved scenes

When Pro iCloud Sync is active, Intersect Studio mirrors saved scenes and their previews to your private Apple CloudKit database. This lets them appear on devices using the same iCloud account. The data uses your iCloud storage quota and isn't visible to us in the CloudKit developer portal. We don't operate a separate account or server for your scenes.

Photos (with your permission)

When you export an image, the app saves it to your Photos library using iOS's "Add Photos Only" permission. This means we can write exported images but cannot read or scan your existing photo library.

Purchase information

We receive basic information about your purchase (product type, subscription status, transaction IDs) to verify Pro access and handle restoration. Apple processes all payments - we never see your payment card or Apple ID details.

Analytics and crash reports

We collect anonymous usage data to understand how people use the app and fix crashes:

• Feature usage (like adding shapes, changing settings)
• Device info (model, iOS version, language/region)
• App version and crash reports

What we don't collect: Advertising IDs, precise location, or contact information. We don't create or maintain an Intersect Studio user account.

Why we use this data

To improve the app

Analytics and crash data help us understand what's working and what needs fixing. We have a legitimate interest in making the app better, and we keep this data collection minimal and anonymous.

Security and fraud prevention

We monitor for unusual patterns (like repeated refund abuse) to keep the app sustainable. This is part of running a legitimate business.

Who we share data with

Apple Inc. handles purchases and subscriptions. When Pro iCloud Sync is active, Apple also stores and transfers saved scenes and previews through iCloud and CloudKit.

Analytics providers help us measure app usage and track down crashes. They aggregate the data and help us improve performance.

We don't sell your data. We don't share it for advertising. We only share what's necessary to make the app work and improve it.

How long we keep data

• On-device content: Stays until you delete it or uninstall the app
• iCloud-synced saved scenes: Stay in your private iCloud database until you delete them in the app and that deletion syncs, or you remove the app's data using Apple's iCloud controls
• After Pro ends: Sync stops after the app applies the entitlement change, but existing iCloud data isn't automatically deleted
• Analytics data: Automatically deleted after 14 months
• Crash reports: Deleted after about 90 days
• Purchase records: Kept as long as needed for Pro access and legal requirements

International data transfers

Our service providers may store data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. When this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (like standard contractual clauses for EU data).

Your rights

Depending on where you live (especially in the EU/UK), you may have rights to:

• Access your data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion
• Object to certain processing
• Export your data
• Complain to a data protection authority

You can view and delete saved scenes from the Saved Scenes screen. You can also manage the app's iCloud data using Apple's iCloud controls. Because private CloudKit records aren't visible to us in the developer portal, we can't directly retrieve or delete those records for you.

Children's privacy

Intersect Studio is suitable for all ages. We use analytics strictly for app improvement, not advertising or tracking. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and our data collection is minimal and anonymous.

Security

We use iOS security features like sandboxing and data protection. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted in the app or on our website.
